Well I was recently reminded of this blog, and so I thought I would share what has been going on.
I've been working, sleeping, eating, playing D&D, reading, drawing, and writing. There's a lot of work to do before my financial situation is completely stable, but medical bills always suck.
I suppose I could go into more detail about the individual things I've been doing, and I suppose I will later, along with a greater accounting of the past few months. For now, just know, I'm still alive, still planning to update this blog. Just not for a few more months. See you then.

The ACTA
A treaty in the works called ACTA had a small portion of it leaked a while back. The treaty itself is confidential, but these things have a way of getting out there. Thankfully it did.
To make a long story short I am rather unhappy with it. I am no news reporter, nor am I a lawyer. So rather than muddle through and tell you all about it I figured I would give you an appropriate link or two.
This is an inconvenience to all, not just pirates. After all it seems that mere accusations can cause you some trouble. So in truth I would like to see it fail horribly, or at least change dramatically. I doubt either one will come to pass. So I make preparations for the laws of the world to change again.
I have made plans to use this for evil. The irony that few realize is that the law applies to everyone. If you dislike a group or organization? Accuse them of infringement! 'The CEO of the RIAA seems to have recently downloaded (insert copyrighted material). Please take action against this individual immediately!" "The members of Congress seems to have recently downloaded..." You get the picture. Accuse everyone. It costs you practically nothing.
Yes, this presents a problem for everyone. Just remember that EVERYONE includes people you would like to get a point across to and/or dislike. =)

Doomsday Book
Still no scanner sadly, so no art up for this month.
In other news I have been rereading a book, I wanted to share with you. I read the book due to hearing a filk song about it. The song, 'In a Gown Too Blue' by Brenda Sutton and performed by Three Weird Sisters, was good enough to pick up my interest. The song is about "Doomsday Book" by Connie Willis. Both the song and the book are worth picking up. If you don't want spoilers, read the book before listening to the song. For me I still enjoyed the book with what spoilers I had already heard. The fact that I am rereading a book means that I give it a very high recommendation. I'm looking into getting the other books from Connie Willis that run in the book's continuity.
I've rambled on long enough. Have fun everyone. I'll be reading. =)

A return from the hospital
Another wonderful visit to the hospital for me has finally ended. It actually ended about a week ago, but when I returned home I found my computer missing. I'm beginning to suspect that this may not be the most friendly neighbourhood. Then again, the large amount of uncollected mail pretty much announced "Noone's here, you could get away with it!" apparently.
So I had to run to buy a new computer. Sadly with an impending bill from the hospital I don't have alot of cash to mess with. So in comes the aspire one. Yep I bought a cheap netbook. I'm just glad I hadn't bought the computer that I had been saving up for before all this. I would have had alot more panic over the bill coming up and would have lost the computer. Perhaps investing in some security system would be worth it at this point as well.
Either way I had alot of time to draw, sadly my scanner is also gone... I am so glad my comp was having issues. It prompted me to do some backups of my more critical data. Sadly it wasn't a full backup... I think I'll start up a monthly backup routine... or bi-monthly. That seems more likely. =P
Well that's all for now. The netbook is overheating like there is no tommorow. Time to give it a rest. Thanks for reading.

Sorry about the lateness. I wanted to make sure I could post this. Now with her permission I introduce Static! It's from her screenname, if you were wondering. By the way, this might seem offensive, it's only the tip of the iceberg. For the next few days you will hear some Static. I had to say it.

Time to hire a good Sys Admin
You may or may not have heard about the SEC's "porn scandal". Honestly in business it's not that surprising that employees are surfing porn. That's pretty common place. What I find surprising is that this is not regularly snuffed out by the system administrator(s). Same thing with the National Science Foundation, a guy surfing porn over 331 days?
Just so you know NSF and SEC, I am ready and willing to take a sys admin job that will make sure your employees stay on task, and keep your systems running smooth. =)
Another sketchblog tommorow, look forward to it!

To read more about it the original blog entry is here. You can find more specific information about the claim in this news article. I made this one specific for today, it had very little impact on my life, so may not be the best for a sketchblog entry. Expect more journal type entries later on.

Ah technology, you never cease to amuse me. Today I found out that on the 23rd someone from Australia googled me. Sadly I'm not informed of this every time I'm googled, but I have been informed on this specific occasion. I am very curious as to who did it.
I went shopping today and bought some more books... Alot more books. I spent way too much. So it's time for me to find more work to make up for the loss. Oops, that money was supposed to go to my new computer. On the plus side I got a scanner today, so it's time to commence uploading!
Look forward to my random scribbles from here on out.

My birthday!
Today I turned 25. I would have forgotten it, had I not gotten a call from my sister saying happy birthday. So today continues on like any other, but perhaps some gifts will arrive. Who knows. =)
I decided to pick up Dragons of Autumn Twilight. So far I am amused. The book is part of a series however, so I'll have pick up the rest of it later on. That's really all there is to report. I hope to have a scanner before the end of the month, but so far I've had to send one back due to a huge crack in the scanning plate.
That's all for now, thanks for reading.

Soon, soon
I know that most of the people who read this, if there are any who indeed remain, are hoping for some sketches. I am glad to say I have plenty to scan as soon as my scanner arrives. I suppose I should ask any out there to comment, just to let me know that I'm not just talking to myself.
I hope you all had a good spring break. That is if you indeed did have a spring break. I have recently finished some programming projects, and I hope to get permission to talk about them from my employers. Because honestly they are currently the things that are taking up most of my time.
On another note I've been working on gaming worlds. I've been really enjoying coming up with NPCs and adventures for them. Honestly I hope kind of wish that I had a local gaming group. I'm tempted to put up fliers at the university and the local 'gaming' shop. In reality the closest thing to a local gaming shop is in fact a comic shop. It's quite a nice place, but sadly I've gotten to go there only once. I really should go and see if any gaming groups are recruiting rather than wining about it online. =P
Also if there is anything in particular you want to see in my sketches or hear about from me please feel free to leave that in a comment too.
